Programme of the conference

The programme of the Loughborough conference on Supporters and Football Governance is now online. The conference will take place in Burleigh Court, Loughborough University on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 October 2014. Keynote speaker will be Sean Hamil, Director of Birkbeck Sport Business Centre on ‘Can supporter engagement really work? A comparative analysis of ownership models around Europe’.

The conference will include academic papers presented in panels and a dialogue with the Civil Society Network of the FREE project in roundtables on the following themes: disabled supporters, alternative club models. Civil society organisations that will be represented include: Leicester City Disabled Supporters Association, Centre for Access to Football in Europe, FC United of Manchester, Athletic Club, FC Sankt Pauli, Supporters Direct Scotland, UEFA, Stockport County, Supporters Direct Europe, Football Supporters Europe e.V.

An exhibition based on the research work done with football supporters by the FREE project will also be launched.
